Can you lose something you never had???

October 26th, 2006 by coolershaker

Genting_highlands_50_1 This will the last blog for the month as I’ll be travelling back to UKM tomorrow morning at 8.30am. Been going online 24/7 and playing ps for the entire week since I got back. Maybe it’s better for me to go back to my Alma Mater since there’s too much obstructions back at home that seems to be hindering me from staying focus in my studies.

Okie, I’ve lost something that I never had which seems pretty stupid in a sense that everyone says that you can never lose something you never had!!! Well, I beg to differ, because I’ve just went through that situation. The thing that I lost means a lot to me and having it will only guarantee me pure happiness. Well, what have I lost??? The answer is LOVE, yes it’s L.O.V.E.How do you lose is when you don’t even have it? Well, it’s pretty simple in a sense that you like a person who never knew you exist. Hahaha!!!

Anyway it’s not like I lost my family and friends. Praise the Lord for that!!! Losing something you wish you had is pretty wicked as you’re mentally, physically and emotionally exhausted from all the dreadful sleepless nights. It’s also financally consuming as I’ve been smsing my friend (a very special and dear friend of mine, you know who you are) to unburden my sorrows to. Wakakaka!!! Thanks dear, I really appreciate you for being there for me in spirit and mind!!!

Tomorrow I’ll be back in UKM and sadly, there won’t be any internet connection in my dorm so I can’t go online!!! Life’s pretty miserable when you don’t get to go online. This only applies to those internet junkies like me!!! Nevertheless, it’s good for me that I don’t get to go online thus giving me more time to focus on my studies. Giving in to temptations is one of my many weaknesses . Tisk tisk tisk!!!

Life’s dreadful and miserable when the passion deep within you is gone like the wind!!! My passion towards sports are gone due to an unwanted accident.

October 21st, 2006 by coolershaker

Basketballpicture2_1I’m currently back in the comfort of my home and I’m not in the mood to study for my finals yet so I went and shoot some hoops in my so-called  mini indoor basketball court. I’ve been practicing my shooting and dribbling skills and after 10 minutes of practice I was dead tired. My stamina was terrible and I felt it deteriorating rapidly and to make things worse, I nearly twisted my leg AGAIN!!!

Back in my school days, I used to be hyperactive in any sort of sports programs organized by my school. I’ve represented my school in trek events like 100m sprint, 200m, 1 x 400m, 4×400 and also 400m hurdles, netball and softball. I’ve also represented my Taekwondo club in the pattern competition in KL. Sports were my passion and I gave up a lot of my time and money on fulfilling my dreams of becoming a respectable athletic but due to an unwanted accident, my life turned drastically. I used to be a sports freak but now, I’m just a non-competitive person. It’s typical for athletics to get injured every now and then. I’ve twisted my foot a couple of times and I even broke my hand once when I fell during taekwondo practice but those wounds are already healed.

The one particular incident that I’ll remember for the rest of my life happened back in the year 2002. I twisted my leg badly and now I’m still suffering from the side effects of a busted kneecap. Everything seems pretty blur to me at first but when I felt the excruciating pain in my kneecap, I saw flashbacks that led to my fall. I remembered myself leaping high in the air for the rebound ball and I fell down hard on my right leg. I felt the pressure mounting up in my kneecap and the next thing I remember vividly was the sound of my bones cracking. As I laid on the ground in excruciating pain, the only thought that went thru my mind was, "Oh My God I broke my leg! I’ll never be able to compete in any sports events for the rest of my life!"

Picture_006 Even now, I’m still suffering from the side effects even though my knee has recovered. Going down the stairs and jumping down from slightly higher grounds will cause my knee to go weary like a jelly on a plate being shaken. Thank God that He’s been merciful on me and He spared my leg but since that accident, I’ve never participated in any sports competitions. BUMMER!!! The feeling of losing your passion towards something is indescribable and it hurts badly deep down inside. Everytime I see other people competing in any sport events, I’ll have a tremendous urge of joining them but, I never did because I know my own limits. With that said, I believe that limitation in life drags us down into the valley of shadows and death!!!

Losing something very precious and dear to me.

October 20th, 2006 by coolershaker

Black_and_red_012 To lose something very dear and precious seems to be the worse thing that could happen in someone’s life. I’ve lost something dear too, recently due to my clumsiness and bad stewardship; I lost my dear camera at the bowling alley in The Mines. The camera was my price possession which caused me RM1400; it was also my companion and friend. When I found out that I’ve lost it, my head just went blank and the first thought that came to my mind was how was I going to tell my mom that I’d lost it.

Going_back_014 The fear within me was indescribable and when fear prevails and takes control of my mind, the devil within me has clearly won the battle and I had succumb to the dark side. The only thing that went through my mind was I was going to be yelled and scolded for my carelessness. When things seem to be out of hand, people tend to walk off alone. That’s what I did when I knew that there was no way that I could ever get my camera back. I wanted to be alone and free from all sort of thoughts.

With every agonizing moments passing by, I can’t seem to get my mind off my camera. The next day my mom called and I told her that I lost my camera. She did scolded me for a couple of minutes and she told me that "Money doesn’t grow on trees you know" but that was the end. I told my care group leader what my mom told me and she said that my mom misses me badly and thus all the misery within my mom has won the battle against her anger towards my irresponsibility. Therefore, after consulting my mom, I felt relieved but my worries is now about my dad finding out that I lost it. He knew specifically I own a Panasonic Lumix Digital Camera that’s worth more than a thousand dollars and if he finds out about it, I’m really going to be in deep trouble!!!

My Life As A PA Person

August 28th, 2006 by coolershaker

P1040023Recently, our church i.e Hope Of God Serdang held a varsity camp where all the students are encourage to bring along some juniors. Me, aiyoyo!!! Tak da bring one junior because I was pretty busy the weeks b4 the camp. I didn’t really go 4 any formal invitations or visitations. My one and only contact bailed on me and to be honest, I was pretty disappointed but anyway, I made it to to the camp even though my Immunology paper is on the coming Monday. Praise the Lord!!!

Varsity_camp_2 Back to the main topic i.e my life as a PA person. Never have I thought that the life of a PA person could be so hectic and tough. The working hours were pretty darn long and stressful. The first day of my official duty as PA person started on the 25th of August, the day b4 our Varsity Camp 2006. We arrived at Dusun Eco, Pahang around 8.30pm and we had our dinner there. Eric taught us how to connect all the musical instruments including the speakers to the amplifier and the mixer. We finished around 12 something and went to bed by then. I slept at around 2am because I had to do a little bit of studying prior to my mid-term exams. Mana tahu, Joyce came in around 2.20am and told me that I still had 40 more minutes to sleep. Thanx Joyce!!!

Woke up at 3.00am and started moving the PA system up to Dataran Rimba. OMG!!! The speaker weighs a ton!!! It took 4 of us to shift it to Dataran Rimba and to make things worse, the path to that place is very steep. We ‘took 5′ for more than 3 times!!! The task really took my breathe away. Wahahaha!!! We went back to bed at around 4.30am and woke up at 6.00am for the final set up. I think I had around 2 hours of sleep only. Waloueh I was soo…… tired the entire day!!! My next duty slot was at 1 in the afternoon and my final duty slot was being replaced by the other PA members.

To sum things up, the PA team is the one who has to be there the earliest and the leave the place the latest. First to come and last to leave!!! Working hours are pretty tough especially during the set up and sound check procedures. Anyway, I’ve gain a lot through this entire process and all the other PA members were very supportive towards me. Thanx Guys!!!

Genting Highlands, I haven’t been there for more than 4 years!!!

July 6th, 2006 by coolershaker

Genting_highlands_8It’s been a while since I last went to Genting Highlands. I still remember vividly the very first time I went on the Corkscrew. Me, my parents and my sister were the only ones to ride the rollercoaster. The adrenaline rush was awesome and we went on the coaster again for the second time straight after the first ride. That was a very long time ago and everything seems different this time around.

Genting_highlands

This time, I went to Genting with our brothers and sisters in Christ. The brother beside me is actually from Thailand. Cool guy!!! We board the bus in KL Sentral and we went all the way to the Genting Sklyline Station where we went on the cable cars to the top. The journey was pretty short and I didn’t even get to rest my eyes. Tisk tisk tisk.

Genting_g_29

Here we are straping on our safety harness. The previous time I went to Genting, I was terrified of this ride, the Space Shot. I was a bit scared at the beggining but after the first fall, I was like ‘High’. I couldn’t stop laughing and I even laughed at Mario for she was screaming like mad. We lined up for more than 30 minutes in the cold cold weather and the ride ended in a couple of seconds. Duh!!! Lame!!!

Genting_highlands_51After the Space Shot, nothing seems to impress me. There weren’t any adrenaline rush in all the coaster rides. Even corkscrew was plain boring. Anyway, Spiderman was pretty cool. We were like suspended in midair in and zooming around like Superman. It should be called Superman instead. Now that I’ve been on all the rides in Genting, I believe that I can tackle the rides in Disney Land. The last time I went to Disney Land Florida, I chickened off but anyway I didn’t fulfil the height requirements too. Hahaha!!!

Genting_highlands_52_1Hmm….. Good thing must come to an end. We went down and board the bus back to KL Sentral. OMG!!! The bus ride down to KL was pretty scarry as the bus was speeding down the slopes but thank God that we arrived back in KL in one piece. Overall, I had a blast with the brothers and sisters and I would do it again in the future.

The one and only outing before Uni reopens.

Bukit_merah_laketown_001Been back for more than 1 1/2 months but still no sign of any reunion gathering among our form 6 gang. Out of the blues, my room-mate gave me a call and invited me to Bukit Merah Laketown Waterpark. I was gonna head back to Kajang on Friday and she told me that we’re going on Thursday which was on the same week of my departure. I was like Duh! What’s the hold up? I’ve been bored for the entire holiday. I hesitated at first but finally I decided to go. Thank God I made the right decision.

Bukit_merah_laketown_102_2Eleven of us took up the challege and we made our way to Bukit Merah which was about an hour drive from Ipoh. 6 gals and 5 guys made up the crew. Upon our arrival, we started taking snapshots of one another. Everyone started to get into position and the next thing I remember was the flash light from the camera. Step aside everyone, supermodels on the go. Wahahaha!!! Chun Fei is actually my partner in crime as the both of us enjoy taking snapshots of ourselves. Go Dude!!!

Bukit_merah_laketown_103No matter how many pictures we take, the most important thing that really matters is the fact that we’re having fun together. Pictures reminds us of the great time we had together and hopefully the memories of our journey stays impermeable. Cherish the wonderful moments!!!

Bukit_merah_laketown_118

I was tanned to the bones!!! My mom was actually freak out when she saw how tanned I was. She said that I looked like a Malay gal which was pretty true. Hahaha!!! But anyway, it doesn’t matter how tanned I was, what matters the most is that I had a blast with my friends and the bond between us has grown stronger. Seri Keledang Gang Rulez!!!

Cooking, I love to cook!!! Believe it or not it’s up to you!!! I wanted to improve my culinary skills so I cooked lunch for myself whenever I’m free.

June 10th, 2006 by coolershaker

Roasted_beef_in_bbq_and_paprika_sauceThe first dish that I’ve cooked during the holidays was Roasted Beef With Paprika. It’s a bit spicy and yet a bit sweet from the sweetness of the onions. The part that needs improving was the side dish that is the stir-fried mushrooms braised in chinese cooking wine topped with BBQ sauce. Overall, the beef was good but it’s sad to say that the side dish didn’t really go that well with the beef. The presentation wasn’t that good either. I’ll give it a 6 1/2 for taste, 7 for creativity and 6 1/2 for presentation over 10. Hahaha!!! The side dish needs a little bit of perking up.

Simple_fried_food_and_potato_braised_in__2The next dish is pretty simple but yet quite complex. The easy part was frying the chicken nuggets, crab filaments and sausage which were then glazed with honey. Well, the more creative part of the dish was the potato and egg. The egg was scramble with onions, garlic and butter with a tad bit of pepper and salt, the only thing that was missing was MILK. I believe that the best part of this dish was the potato which was braised slowly in chicken stock and rosemary and topped with black pepper. Overall ratings, 7 1/2 for taste, 6 for creativity and presentation. Yummy!!!

One more month to go before Uni reopens and what have I done for the past month??? I have no clue so please knock some sense into me!!!

My_room_k7a312_016Hmm…..This picture really brings back great memories of the times I’ve spent in my room doing all sort of nonsense. Those were the days!!! Now, I’m currently back in Ipoh doing what I do best that is, ‘Nothing’. Hahaha!!! Been slacking and sleeping my time away for more than 3 weeks. Most of my buddies are either just as lazy as I am or they’ll be working their arse off for the extra pocket money. I think by next month, I’ll turn into a cat for sleeping more than 12hours per day. Just kidding, I dun believe that I slept that many hours per day. Maybe I’ll turn into an owl instead or a dracula for all the late night or should I say early morning sleep. Hahaha!!!

Back_home_008 The dumbest thing I’ve done for the past month was walking into a DOOR! How dumb can a person get??? The door wasn’t made from glass or anything that enables you to see the other side of the room. The door wasn’t transparent for crying out loud and I walked into it. To come and think of it, the whole thing reminds me of Archie the comic character that alwaz walk into doors. I used to think that it’ll only happen in the comic world but hey, it seems like it’s not impossible for someone to be that dumb or should I say short sighted, clumsy or plain blind.

Back_home_003Well since I live in Perak a state where every angle you turn to, you’ll be able to see hills and sometimes mining pools. Menglembu is a small town which is situated among the hills so it’s oh so typical for us to take a nice stroll up the hill. Kledang Hill is the name and I’ve basically been to the all the peaks and there are a few jungle treks that I’ve never heard off so needless to say, I’ve never ventured into the unknowns before. Hahaha!!! Well, the walk ended pretty fast as we were chatting all the way from the foot of the hill. Anyway, it was pretty fun and hey, we also got to get our feet moving and our hearts pumping. Exercise and while chatting, what else could you ask for???

Well, one more month to go and I’ll be starting a new year of University life. Guess I’ll have to work harder and use my time wiser for the coming weeks. Adios amigo.

RETREAT!!! I dun mean the troop nor the army. Hey I’m not apart of any secret and anti-goverment organizations.

May 22nd, 2006 by coolershaker

Feei_na_232RETREAT!!! rEtReAT!!!retreat!!! That’s just a term we used for one of our UKM "Not So Secret Project". Hehehe!!! Well in my point of view, I think that the term retreat here means that : to release ourselves from the hectic life of examinations and work to  be one with the great out-doors. This time around, the gang and I went to Putrajaya’s Botani Garden aka Gaik Ee’s paradise. Hahaha!!! Those who know her will know what I mean. Here’s a quote from Gaik Ee herself, "The flowers are the sex organs!". Hahaha!!! I find it pretty amusing and down right horny ya know.

Feei_na_222_1 Oh no I’m so standing so close to the plant’s sexual organs. Thank goodness that I didn’t touch them or I’ll be sue for molesting the plant. Hehehe!!! The ecosystem here is much more stable compared to the ecosytem in UKM obviously and the air was just perfect with the right amount of hydrogens and oxygens. Hey, forget about chemistry already gal, examinations are so lame and it’s over dude!!! Anyway, it was pretty soothing and refreshing there not forgetting rejuvenating. One of the activities we did here is cycling and the thought of cycling aroung the park still lingers in my mind. Should I say cycling up the slopes instead of around the park. Hmmm…..According to my internal brain cip, I remembered that I nearly ran out of breath cycling up the very steep slopes TWICE!!! Phew, just the thought of it makes me feel exhausted and dead tired. Anyway, the whole trip was pretty invigorating and we had a good time fellowshipping with one another.

Feei_na_269We went to Alamanda Shopping Center after we bonded with one another and not forgetting good ol’ mother nature. Lunch was next on the to do list, so we grab our lunch and sat together to indulge ourselves with the oh so wonderful feast. The prices we off the hook but sometimes you’ve gotta pay more to get something extra if ya know what I mean. Other than having lunch together, Feei Na planned before hand to celebrate Wuan Theng’s belated birthday there too, so she went off and bought a cake. All the best to you my dear sister!!!

Overall, the trip was pretty cool and relaxing since I’ve already finished my exams. My mind was in peace and tranquillity but there was a bit of frustration in my mind whenever I think about packing my stuffs. Argh!!! That’s one of the least favourable thing to do on my ‘to do list’. Packing my stuffs requires loads of concentration and not forgetting some mathematical calculations and geometrical arrangements in order to stuff everything into a box. I desperately need my mom’s help for this kind of stuffs. Anyway, you’ve gotta do what you’ve gotta do. No more mommy this and mommy that anymore.Hahaha!!!

Shopping, walking, bargaining, standing, chatting, eating and waiting.

April 27th, 2006 by coolershaker

Easter_day_049_1 It’s the third day since my last paper and I’ve received loads of questions regarding my departure date from my peeps. They kept on asking me, "When’s your last paper?" and I’ll say "Monday the 24th of April" and they’ll say "What are you still doing here, when are you going home???" Why is everyone so eager to go home??? Going home to me means trouble ’cause there’s just so much to do like packing and cleaning. Other than that, we’ve gotta carry our stuffs from the third floor to the car and mind you, my books weigh more than 5kg!!! So to me, going home for the semester break is a DRAG!!!

Going_back_012 Okay, today me and my room-mate went shooping at Sungei Wang and Berjaya Times Square. The journey there was pretty comfortable and judging by Li May’s facial expression, I was able to tell that she totally dozed off on our way to KL Sentral. If I didn’t wake her up, she’ll end up in Rawang instead. I really wanted to do so but luckily the angel on my left shoulder defeated the devil on my right shoulder. So, I did woke her up and we went to Sg Wang and Times Square to shop. Hahaha!!!

We spent about more than 4 hours of walking around and window shopping, 1 hour of real shopping, 1 hour for lunch and 2 hours++ in the KTM!!! Come to think of it, we did a lot of walking, standing and waiting instead of shopping. Man, my feet hurts, my neck is pretty stiff and my shoulders ache. I never thought that shopping would require me to have such high levels of tolerance, stamina and patience!!!

OMG, the 2hours++ in the KTM is a total drag as the air was thick, the air-conditioner wasn’t really working and is was pretty crowded. We stopped at Serdang for more then 15mins and along the way, we did make a couple of pit stops which were very time consuming too. Aiyoyo, the whole journey was pretty tiring as we had to stand in the stuffy deck for more than 1hour!!! My advice to you guys out there is, ‘Practice your stamina and your foot work!!!’. Oh yah, put in a little bit of patience too!!!

Overall, I had a great time today and thank God that we had a really fruitful and save journey. I’m actually really looking forward to our next outing!!! I still haven’t decided when to go back so please don’t ask me that question again.
